Yummy Never Fail Chocolate Cake - originally posted May 21, 2013

Another recipe my mom made all the time, was chocolate cake.  This cake is always moist.  It uses no dairy and no eggs, so it's good for allergies.  It's dense enough to be used for a Black Forest or German Chocolate cake or you can add nuts or fruit to the cake batter itself.
I even made my cousin's wedding cake using this recipe.  You will soon be famous for this cake.

3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup oil
2 Tbsp vinegar
2 cups cold water (coffee works, too!)
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Make three holes in the mixture.  Pour vanilla in one hole, oil in one and vinegar in the other.
Pour the cold water over all and stir just until combined.
Pour into a 9x13 pan, a bundt pan or make 2 dozen cupcakes. Bake at 325F for about 45 minutes if you're making a 9 x 13 or a bundt.  Shorter for cupcakes.




This cake will make you famous.
