Captain Awkward loves this recipe
1 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 cup lentils
8 cups veg stock
1 can stewed tomatoes
salt
1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
pepper
cayenne
2 tsp sumac
3 tsp Lebanese 7-spice
1/4 cup basmati rice
juice of 1 lemon
Sweat onions and garlic in the olive oil.
Add lentils and stock, bring to boil, let simmer 25 min.
Add tomatoes, parsley and all seasonings, cook for 5 min.
Add the rice and let simmer slowly for 25 or 30 minutes. Finish with lemon juice
