Directly from the box of Baker's unsweetened chocolate. So delicious!
A place for me to keep the recipes I've tried and that work. Along with my personal notes about each recipe. I'll also talk about my thoughts on food and cooking, ranting and or pondering as the occasion dictates or the mood moves.

Slow Cooker Brownies - originally posted on Feb 2/13
What? brownies in the slow cooker? Really, Martha? Inspired by this recipe, I thought I'd give it a go. If this works, I imagine any chewy brownie recipe would work, but to start I thought I'd try Martha's recipe. Well, mostly.
Banana Brownies - originally posted on Aug 22/13
You know how I love brownies. I have a few different brownie recipes on this blog. I also love bananas. A few recipes for muffins, cake and loaf reside on this blog too. What you may not know is that I love Chef Michael Smith. The other day, while watching a rerun of one of his tv shows, he featured banana brownies.

Zucchini Brownies!
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 packed cup grated zucchini
2/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preheat the oven to 350F.
In a medium bowl, stir together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the cocoa, flour, baking powder and salt; stir a few strokes, then add the zucchini and stir just until the batter is combined. Spread into a buttered or parchment-lined 8x8-inch baking pan.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until springy to the touch but still a bit squidgy in the middle.

Stout Brownies
This summer, I watched my neighbours cats while she went on vacation. One thing she left me as a thank you was a bottle of double chocolate stout.

Intense Brownie Recipe
I don't know why, but I felt the need to try a new brownie recipe. I'm looking for rich, chewy goodness, not the cakey kind.
A combination of semi sweet chocolate chips and leftover easter bunny to make 6 ounces
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 capful pure vanilla extract
1 dash of salt
1 cup flour
A combination of semi sweet chocolate chips and leftover easter bunny to make 6 ounces
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 capful pure vanilla extract
1 dash of salt
1 cup flour
Line a square glass pan with parchment paper.
Melt chocolate and butter together in the top of a double boiler, stirring frequently. Let cool to warm.
Beat eggs with sugar until blended and frothy. Add cocoa powder, vanilla and salt and stir until well combined. Add the chocolate mixture and keep whisking until thoroughly combined, then add the flour and keep mixing until the mixture is incorporated. No white streaks should remain.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350F for about half an hour.
THESE BROWNIES ARE FANTASTIC!
